5 Ways Texas Weather Can Affect Your Roof
Be Proactive to Combat Unpredictability
Whether you’re a recent transplant or have lived here your whole life, every Texan knows that the best word to describe the weather of the Lone Star State is “unpredictable.” It becomes a fact of life pretty quickly around these parts and most of us adjust quickly and go about our days as if nothing was happening. Your roofing, however, doesn't have that luxury. Here are some ways that weather can affect your roof as we enter the fall season.

- Errant Hail Storms - While we usually associate hail with the spring, that doesn’t mean it can’t happen in the fall as well! Have your roof inspected immediately if we happen to catch a surprise hail storm.
- Hurricane Season - Hurricane season officially lasts from June 1st to November 30th, so if we are unfortunate enough to get some severe weather, a roof inspection is a must.
- Watch Your Gutters - If you have trees on your property, make sure that your gutters remain free from debris. Clogged gutters can cause a whole host of issues with your roof.
- Temperature Fluctuations - It can go from warm to chilly in a matter of hours in North Texas during the fall, and your roofing materials will expand and contract accordingly. Keep an eye out for loose or missing shingles.
- Falling Branches -
Make sure to have your
trees trimmed annually. A falling branch can severely damage your roof.
